We are four of 1097 inhabitants and feel so good in our small village Hassum.

Briefly to the history of Hassum/Goch
Hassum was mentioned documented for the first time in 1144. A chapel already existed around 1300. After the destruction in the Second World War the catholic church became, that came from the 16. Century , not developed again. Instead 1948 a hall church were built as emergency church, which was extended 1968 and received a free standing bell tower in1978. It stands under the Partozinium of the hl. Willibrordus.
Nearby the realm forest and in the surrounding field of the today's village Hassum, in February 1945 of the 2nd world war the so-called "battle in the realm forest" took place . After this battle the allied ones could strike a bridgehead afterwards at Wesel over the Rhine riever and take thus the Ruhr district.
1969 Hassum was pertinently explains to Goch.
